We never heard of it before, but apparently today is National Pig Day. Started by sisters Mary Lynne Rave and Ellen Stanley in 1972, National Pig Day is “to accord to the pig its rightful, though generally unrecognized, place as one of man’s most intellectual and domesticated animals,” according to Rave.
