On June 30th this beautiful female lion cub was born at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens to mother Tamu and father Mshoni. The little cub is being hand-raised by zookeepers as mom has so little maternal experience that she is unable to adequately nurse the newborn.
Its the first surviving lion birth at Jacksonville Zoo since 1974.
